This Privacy Policy explains how Bij Life Inc., a federally incorporated Canadian corporation, collects, uses, stores, protects, and discloses personal information when you use the Bīj app, website, account creation flow, meditation tools, journal features, practice statistics, teachings, sound/music features, and related services.

1. Our Privacy Commitment
Bīj is built around trust, stillness, and care.
• We do not sell your personal information.
• We do not rent or trade your personal information.
• We do not share your personal information for third-party advertising.
Your journal entries, reflections, private notes, and personal statistics remain private to your account unless you choose to share them or unless disclosure is required for limited operational, legal, safety, or security reasons described in this Policy.
We collect only the information reasonably needed to provide, protect, maintain, and improve Bīj.

Depending on how you use Bīj, we may collect the following types of information.

4. Journal Privacy
Your journal entries and personal reflections are private to your account.
• Bīj does not sell, rent, trade, or use your journal entries for third-party advertising.
• Bīj does not publish your journal entries.
• Bīj does not display your journal entries to other users.
Limited access to journal data may occur only if needed to:
• operate the app
• store, sync, back up, or restore your data
• provide support at your request
• investigate security issues
• comply with law
• protect the rights, safety, or security of users, Bīj, or others
5. Practice Time and Tree-Planting Initiative
Bīj may track qualifying practice time, such as meditation time, breath practice time, and other eligible practices.
This information may be used to:
• show your private practice history
• calculate your personal practice statistics
• contribute to Bīj's tree-planting initiative
• contribute to aggregated or de-identified collective impact totals, such as collective practice hours, returns, or trees rooted
Your individual journal entries are not used for tree-planting calculations.
Bīj may use aggregated or de-identified practice data to show collective impact. Aggregated or de-identified data is not intended to identify you personally.
6. Collective Impact and The Field
Bīj may display collective totals such as:
• sitting now
• breathing now
• reflections today
• returns offered today
• collective roots
• trees rooted
• hours until the next tree takes root
These collective totals should be aggregated or de-identified wherever possible. They should not reveal your identity, your journal content, or your private personal statistics.
7. Consent
By creating an account or using Bīj, you consent to the collection, use, and disclosure of your personal information as described in this Privacy Policy.
You may withdraw consent where legally permitted by contacting us at bijapp@outlook.com. If you withdraw consent, some features may no longer work.
Marketing consent is separate from account creation. You can create an account without consenting to marketing updates.
8. Marketing Emails and Updates
If you choose to receive early updates or help shape Bīj, we may send you emails about:

• early access
• surveys
• community invitations
• Kickstarter or campaign-related updates
• app improvements
You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time.

Bīj is a wellness and contemplative practice app, not a medical service.
Please do not enter urgent medical, mental health, legal, financial, or emergency information into Bīj.
Journal entries are private, but users should understand that any information they choose to write may be stored in their account.
